This Roasted Fruit Sorbet recipe offers a unique twist on a classic frozen treat. Ingredients
16 oz frozen fruit of your choice
1 cup sugar
2 cups sugar
juice and zest of one lemon or lime
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 275. Spread frozen fruit in single layer on cookie sheet. Roast 30-40 minutes (if the fruit has a higher water content go with 30 minutes). Stir once, mid roast. Let cool.
Step 2
Dissolve sugar in water over low heat. Let cool. Stir in zest and juice.
Step 3
Blend cooled sugar mixture and roasted fruit in blender until smooth.
Step 4
Churn in ice cream maker for 40 mins. If you don't have an ice cream maker, pour mixture in 8"-9" glass dish and freeze; raking with a fork every 15 minutes.
